Mindfulness @ work
Work environments are increasingly uncertain, volatile and ever changing. Agile management allows to work faster, but also requires focused attention. Being mindful means being present in the here-and-now. That's why we believe in the mix of mindfulness and agile management. Our research shows that short mindfulness practices, like a three-minute breathing exercise at the start of a meeting, improves the decision-making process, decrease stress levels and enhances team interaction.
We help public and private sector organisations, students, and individuals to come up with unexpected insights and solutions. Tools like Rapid Prototyping, Design Thinking and Agile Project Management are applied to contemporary challenges to drive innovation. We have included a Three Minute Breathing Exercise in our toolkit to improve team interaction. You can access the Centre for Innovation's toolkit here.
Moment of zen
The Centre for Innovation is committed to the well-being of its team and has its own meditation instructor on staff. The Mindfulness Lab offers a guided meditation practice on Future Friday: a short sitting meditation or a movement meditation exercise (based on Qigong and Thai Chi) to help students and staff reduce stress and stay grounded.
